The Movers and Shakers Fund Raising Team, recently held an afternoon tea commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day at Christchurch, Moreton.

There were a lovely variety of sandwiches, delicious homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, and scrumptious cakes served with tea or coffee.

Entertainment was provided by the talented Cherry Bomb who sang all the wartime favourites  and persuaded many people to dance.

The Team created a lovely exhibition of wartime memorabilia which for many people brought back poignant memories. We have to mention Liz (a customer of our charity shop) who kindly lent her mother’s wedding dress to exhibit. Her mum and dad were married in the 1940’s and she also included photos and a newspaper article relating to the marriage.

They held a raffle and sold lovely gifts, and a prize was awarded for the best dressed, as Fancy dress was optional.

Everyone enjoyed themselves and the Team were asked when the next one would be!

Thank you to all who came and all our volunteers on the day, we raised a wonderful £615.00. Please check out some of our wonderful photos below!
